Investment House (ABN 48 083 174 458) provides a complete project management service that allows our clients to acquire select investment properties at wholesale prices.
This enables clients to either sell the project to generate an additional $50,000 p.a. in income without working any harder or build a portfolio of properties paying only wholesale prices.
The Investment House Story
In the late 1980's, Ben Healy (the founder and former Business Development Manager of Investment House) and Colin Ferguson (current Business Development Manager) were financial planners working in the investment advisory industry.
In 1991, Ben Healy founded Investment House with the objective of providing a "turnkey" service where investors could acquire quality residential investments without enduring the many hassles associated with buying real estate. It also meant clients could be confident of structuring their investment in the most appropriate manner.
The company grew quickly and by 1996 was recognised as a market leader. Turnover exceeded $10,000,000 per annum, having vertically integrated all of the major components in the residential property arena. Investment House had evolved into a "one stop shop", incorporating:
- Property research and selection services
- Home loan and investment finance services
- Residential construction services
- Property management services
In 1999, the company's thinking took on a new dimension. This change stemmed largely from a question put to a long standing client at a dinner.
The question was, "What does Investment House have to do for you to introduce us to more of your friends and colleagues?"
And the answer - "Just make my houses go up $50,000 "
And it was a fair comment. For the six-plus years leading up to 1999, the Brisbane residential property market had seen relatively little capital growth. So the challenge was set - find a way to extract capital growth, even in a flat market.
From this point Investment House refined their approach. Two key significant enhancements were introduced:
- Development of the Freedom Plus product, which provides clients with a novel strategy to Retire on a tax-free income years sooner than they thought possible.
- Refinement of property selection criteria to seek out high-performance investments that could be acquired at wholesale prices

Colin Ferguson Business Development Manager
Colin heads up the team and has been specialising in property investment since 1990. With his background as a Financial Planner in the late 80′s, he has been instrumental in devising leading-edge investment strategies within the company since 1993.
Today he is a popular guest speaker, specialising in the areas of tax minimization and wealth creation through residential property investment. Unlike some MD′s, Col is always available to talk with clients about their investment activities.
Yolanda Revis Financial Controller & Property Manager
Yolanda has been with Investment House since 2003, managing the business day to day. She is a qualified Accountant with 25 years management accounting and office administration experience. She has brought with her a wealth of experience in the commercial environment obtained from previous positions in private education, travel & tourism, and manufacturing. Even before joining Investment House, Yolanda had a passion for the property market, and since joining the team she has undertaken further studies in the property arena.
Yolanda has that rare ability to relate well to people from all walks of life and this, combined with her strong sense of commitment makes her an invaluable member of our team.
John Lambe - Construction Manager
John has been involved in the building industry for over 24 years. He has been both a Builder and Building Manager within the residential construction arena and has also received numerous awards and credits within the housing industry for Housing Construction.
John is a totally committed professional and has a "hands on" approach when dealing with sub-contractors, suppliers and clients to make the building process as hassle free and enjoyable as possible. The very high quality of houses produced by the construction team is testimony to John′s commitment to excellence.
Marco Mendes Research Manager
Marco is one of those rare individuals with a passion for numbers and in particular: property development. Don′t let his youthful looks deceive you he′s a wiz. Marco has been working and studying the Sydney and Brisbane property markets for more than six years and apart from being regarded as one of the most knowledgeable and diligent practitioners, he is a successful investor in his own right.
Marco is heads up the research team and is responsible for finding and analysing prospective development sites. His attention to detail and remarkable depth of technical knowledge make him an integral member of the Investment House team.
